Terms of Use

These terms cover humn.news, the @HumnNews account, profiles, the leaderboard and campaigns, and the tests (treasure hunts) we run. Using the site means you accept them.

1. Who can use HUMN NEWS

You must be at least 18, and allowed by the laws where you live to use the site and take part in the tests. If prize games or crypto are restricted where you are, don't play.

2. What HUMN NEWS is

HUMN NEWS publishes news and commentary about AI, technology and where society is going. Some of it is satire. We source facts and quotes and link to them, but we can get things wrong. When we do, we correct it and date the correction. Sponsored pieces are always labelled "sponsored transmission".

3. Not advice

Nothing on humn.news or @HumnNews is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Do your own research.

4. The $HUMN token

$HUMN is a token on the Solana blockchain. Holding a minimum amount lets you earn leaderboard points and take part in tests. It gives you no ownership, share, dividend or other right in HUMN NEWS or anything else. Its price can go to zero. We don't control its market, and we make no promise about its value, liquidity or future. Blockchain transactions are irreversible.

5. Your profile

• You create a profile by signing a message with your own wallet and connecting your own X account. Signing is free and sends no transaction.
• Only use a wallet and an X account that are yours. One person, one profile.
• You're responsible for your wallet and its keys. We will never ask for your seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is not us.
• You can delete your profile at any time. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Tests (treasure hunts)

• Tests are games of skill. Each test has stages that open at published times, and each stage has one correct answer.
• To take part, your profile's wallet must hold the minimum $HUMN shown for that test when you submit.
• Winners are the first players, in the number announced for that test, to answer every stage correctly after the final stage opens, as recorded by our system.
• Prizes are whatever we announce for that test, such as creator fees and sponsor prizes, paid in crypto to the wallet on the winner's profile. Prize amounts can change until the final stage opens.
• We may disqualify, and withhold prizes from, anyone who cheats: multiple profiles, automated guessing, exploiting bugs, or sharing answers in bad faith.
• If something outside our control breaks a test, we may pause, extend, change or cancel it. Our decision on winners is final.
• Any taxes on prizes are your responsibility.

7. The leaderboard, seasons and campaigns

• You earn points by spreading HUMN NEWS on X from the X account on your profile, while your profile's wallet holds $HUMN. How points are counted is part of the game: it isn't published in full, and it can change from one season or campaign to the next.
• Seasons and campaigns have start and end dates shown on the site. When one ends, its board is final. Points don't carry into the next season unless we say so.
• We read public X data through the X API to count points. Counting can be delayed or miss posts; you can submit a missed post. Deleted posts stop counting.
• We may remove points, or disqualify and withhold prizes from, anyone who games the board: bots, bought engagement, multiple profiles, spam or exploiting bugs.
• Prizes are whatever we show for a season or campaign, paid in crypto to the wallet on the winner's profile. We may change prize amounts before it ends. Our count is final.

8. Paid newswires

Projects can pay HUMN NEWS to produce a sponsored transmission. We can refuse any request, and refuse to publish anything we don't want to, and we refund requests we refuse. Paying gets a label, never editorial control over the rest of our coverage.

9. Behave

Don't use the site to break the law, attack or overload our systems, scrape it at scale, impersonate anyone, or harass people. We can suspend or delete profiles that do.

10. Our content

The site, our videos, graphics, text and the HUMN NEWS name belong to us or to the people we credit. You can share links and quote short parts with credit. Don't republish whole pieces or use our name or logo as if you were us.

11. No guarantees

We provide HUMN NEWS as it is, without warranties. The site may be offline, contain errors, or change. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses from token prices, blockchain transactions, third-party services or your own wallet's security. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn't let us exclude.

12. Changes

We may update these terms and change the date at the top. Rules announced for a test that's already running stay as announced unless a change is needed to keep it fair.
